9 Portraits of Gay Military Families Who Serve in Silence Under DOMA
Although DADT is dead, DOMA still looms over the lives and love of these families who have served our country. Discrimination still occurs in little and big ways, like the denial of a lesbian’s spouse into a military spouse group seen HERE. America’s soldiers still are not equal in all ways, and it is our job as citizens to ensure them not just fair treatment, but the same freedoms we seek as a whole in the LGBTQ community.
It’s not rocket science…

And whether we know it, or whether we acknowledge it, they are our family, our friends, and our neighbors. Being gay is not a western invention. It is a human reality.”
“It takes no compromising to give people their rights. It takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no survey to remove repressions.”
