Anderson Cooper 360: Interview with Jamey Rodemyer’s sister and Bullying Expert Rosalind Wiseman

Only a few days after finding her brother’s lifeless body, Alyssa Rodemyer and others tried to celebrate Jamey’s life at the homecoming dance. When they heard Lady Gaga come on they chanted his name and tried to be happy for the moment. Shockingly, some of Jamey’s bullies in attendance abruptly interrupted this moment of remembrance and shouted back at the group, saying things like, “We’re glad he’s dead!” as well as some obscenities. Alyssa said although the bullies fled after this incident, that it was caught on video by a friend of Jamey’s, although no disciplinary action has been taken yet.

What Alyssa wants people to remember is this: “While he (Jamey) was alive, was trying to get out this message of everyone should be treated equally and non one should be bullied for no kind of way they are different…We don’t want to see another teen to come to this decision, because they were being bullied. No one’s worthless. Everyone is worth the life they are living.”
